Dr Dorin Gupta
Dr Gupta is a crop scientist with research focus on improving the sustainability and efficiency of crop production systems (range of crops including-cereals, legumes, annual horticulture and indigenous crops) through optimum resource use, distant germplasm and commercial cultivar evaluation, and generation of improved breeding materials for traits of interest for improving nutritional profile and managing biotic (fungal) and abiotic (drought and heat) stresses. Her research involves laboratory based, controlled glasshouse and field experimentations using technology driven high throughput phenotyping, speed breeding, and genomics.
She is coordinator of Food Sustainability and Crop Production specialisations of Masters of Agriculture Science. She is also coordinator of three subjects – Sustainable Food Production, Applied Crop Production and Horticulture and Plant Systems which highlights her expertise from basic to applied crop production.
