It has been wonderful translating my passion for STEM through this opportunity to be a writer for Magnify! I joined STEM Sisters during my PhD, and now having completed my doctorate I look forward to continuing with my contribution to this fantastic initiative. Publications such as Magnify are creating awareness of the diverse and vibrant STEM community!

Being able to work on Magnify has allowed me to spend time on my hobby, which is creating visuals on Canva, while also contributing back to the community.

The journey as a writer & editor for Magnify so far has been amazing. Since I have been part of this initiative from the very beginning I feel like I have seen this growing up. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing WoC in STEM and learnt so much throughout this journey. I look forward to learning more about cultural diversity and many more in STEM.

As the writer & designer for Magnify’s Arts Corner, it’s been genuinely fulfilling & exciting to explore the ever-growing intersection of art and science, while simultaneously spotlighting aspects of the art world through the lens of women & people of colour. I’m grateful for having this opportunity to collaborate with some talented WOC in STEM to produce something that tangibly builds up, supports and celebrates the amazing folks in our community!

Writing has been my passion since I could read. Interviewing people is another path of opening my eyes to the world. Science is what I’ve loved since the 3rd grade. Combining them all together, I find happiness as a writer for MAGNIFY magazine. I have the chance to meet wonderful women to enrich my perspective in life. Yep, we need more women in STEM involved in MAGNIFY as it is a great journey for your curiosity in science and life.

ven though I started contributing since the last Magnify Issue (4th Issue), I have experienced many incredible things. I can give back to the community through my passion for science and visual design.

This is my first time being a contributor for Magnify magazine and I got to meet with an amazing team, and learn from the stories of others. Thank you Ruwangi and team for the opportunity to voice and share my experiences with like-minded readers. Thank you everyone for being so kind! The magazine brought people together from all walks of life and allow us to share their cultures, which is a very important thing in the world today

Whew! 5th publication already, ay? As a contributor who has been with Magnify since its first stride, I am amazed at how big the team has grown and how closely-knit we’ve all become. This has been an amazing initiative to shine light on the success, struggle and happiness of many WOC, which has impacted our readers, including me. A huge shoutout to the team and Ruwangi for giving me the opportunity to share my ideas and stories, while giving back to the community at the same time!
